BACOLOD City – Crossing the road turned fatal for a woman in Barangay Gargato, Hinigaran, Negros Occiedntal.
The 71-year-old Ofelia Baña died of head and body injuries, a police report showed. She was rushed to the Hinigaran Emergency Clinic where the attending physician declared her as “dead on arrival.”
Baña – resident of the village – was crossing the road when a motorcycle driven by 20-year-old Ernesto Buaya of Barangay Anahaw, Hinigaran with his back rider Ely Cordero, 44, hit her around 11:09 a.m. on March 22, it added.
Buaya and Cordero, who sustained body injuries, were also brought to the same clinic but were later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City./PN
