ILOILO City – A woman was rescued after she jumped off the Carpenters Bridge in Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao district around 3 a.m. yesterday.
Alias “Tara”, 27, is a resident of Barangay Hibao-an Sur, Mandurriao and is believed to have family problems. A security guard of a private hospital saw her jump from the bridge so he called for help.
According to Allen Guevara, member of the Phoenix Response Team and was the first responded to the site, Tara was conscious despite falling into the river below the bridge and had no serious injuries.
Personnel of the Philippine Cost Guard pulled Tara out of the river using a harness.
She was turned over by the Iloilo City Emergency Responders to the Mandurriao police station and was later sent home.
