ILOILO – A 67-year-old woman was shot to death in Sitio Lanag, Barangay PD Monfort North, Dumangas town around 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
The victim, Lelia Gilapay, was a resident of the said barangay. She succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds on her mouth, eyes and calf.
She was declared “dead-on-arrival” at the town’s Ramon D. Duremdes District Hospital, according to Police Staff Sergeant Efren Gonzaga, investigator of the Dumangas Municipal Police Station.
Police meanwhile, said the suspect identified as Remy Dipas, a native of the same barangay, allegedly used a 12-gauge shotgun in the crime.
The hot pursuit operation against the suspect is still ongoing./PN
