BACOLOD City – A 44-year-old mother was stabbed to death by her daughter’s boyfriend in Purok Lanka, Barangay Robles, La Castellana, Negros Occidental before dawn on Tuesday.
Police requested not to identify the victim and the suspects.
La Castellana municipal police chief Police Captain Rhojn Darell Nigos said the victim was asleep with her children when the 17-year-old suspect who was also the boyfriend of her 17-year-old daughter, broke into the house.
Nigos said the victim’s daughter allegedly sent text messages to her boyfriend to enter the house and kill her mother as the latter did not approve of their relationship.
The boyfriend allegedly stabbed the mother several times on the chest.
Nigos said the victim’s daughter even tried to hide the crime, and did not attempt to stop her boyfriend from committing the crime.
Both suspects were eventually apprehended and handed over to the town’s social welfare and development office.
Police also recovered the bladed weapon used in the stabbing.
The victim’s daughter is facing parricide charges, while the boyfriend is facing a murder charge./PN
