ILOILO City – A woman was arrested for allegedly stealing money and a cellular phone from a taxi driver in Barangay Bantud, La Paz district.
The 19-year-old Celine Mae Republica of Barangay South Baluarte, Molo was detained in the lockup facility of the La Paz police station.
She allegedly stole the items from 36-year-old driver Mark Lester Gendecilla of Barangay Don Esteban, Lapuz.
Gendecilla was taking a rest inside his taxi parked along the road around 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday when Republica allegedly took his P600 cash and cellphone.
He caught Republic doing this, police said.
The items were recovered from the suspect. It was not immediately clear if Gendecilla filed charges against Republica./PN
