Woman yields ‘shabu’, gun in Capiz

CAPIZ – Suspected shabu and a firearm with ammunition were recovered from a 41-year-old woman in Barangay Ibaca, President Roxas town.

Jecky Tapayan, a resident of the town’s Barangay Hanglid, was arrested after allegedly selling an unlicensed caliber .38 revolver with ammunition to a police asset for P3,500.

Police Major Rachelle Garnica, chief of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station (MPS), added that three sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P27,000 were also seized from the suspect.

The suspect was detained at the President Roxas MPS.

She is facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
