ANTIQUE – The body of a 21-year-old woman was found on a beach in Sitio Burabod, Barangay Callan, Sebaste town around 3:50 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 30.
The woman, known by the alias “Ela,” was a resident of Barangay Casit-an, Laua-an town. Her family later identified her remains.
Police Corporal Joven Gukawa, investigator of the Sebaste Municipal Police Station (MPS), said they initially received a report from the police in the neighboring town of Pandan that fisherman Charlie Amante had spotted a body floating in the seawaters.
“Ela” was last seen attempting to cross a river in Sitio Mantad, Barangay Liberato, Laua-an on Sept. 27 but got swept away by the strong water current./PN
