BORACAY – A cash-for-work program to benefit indigenous peoples (IP) in Aklan province and the rest of Western Visayas will be implemented starting Dec. 7.
Social Welfare Officer III Beverly Salazar, who gave updates on the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) being implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development Regional Office 6 during a year-end forum here, said the program is part of the support services intervention for IP.
The cash-for-work program will benefit 2,217 IPs who belong to the 4Ps Modified Conditional Cash Transfer (MCCT).
The community work they would undertake within the 10-day program would be identified by the beneficiaries themselves during their consultative meeting, said Salazar.
Cash-for-work beneficiaries will receive a daily wage of P298 each. (PNA)
