WV cops to run after people engaging in Peryahan ng Bayan

ILOILO – “We will enforce the law against Peryahan ng Bayan.”

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) stressed this following the order of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) to run against operators of the Peryahan ng Bayan.

PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, said they already commenced operation against Peryahan bet collectors since July 13.

“We have already arrested bet collectors in the province of Iloilo and we will impose the law to all illegal activities that include the illegal gambling. Ang Peryaha ng Bayan wala na-include sa list sang authorized sang PCSO… Our regional director Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda ordered nga dakpon tanan nga illegal,” Malong said.

On July 13, two bet collectors of Peryahan ng Bayan were arrested in Barangay Zone 5 in Santa Barbara town.

Aida Superioredad, 61, and Jade Suase, 32, were detained inside the lockup cell of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) after they were caught soliciting bets in the area.

The following day, another four Peryahan bet collectors were also arrested in the public market of Tigbauan, Iloilo.

They were Julie Tuliba, Marites Ganolon, Jocelyn Chavez, and Joel Ganolon, all residents of the town.

According to PCSO vice president and general manager Royina Garma, Peryahan games are still suspended.

In July 2019, President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the suspension of all PCSO games including lotto, Peryahan ng Bayan, Keno, and small town lottery for alleged corruption./PN
