ILOILO City – The Western Visayas Sanitarium will have a new chief – Dr. Judy Ann Dumayas.
Dumayas will replace hospital concurrent officer-in-charge Dr. Gary Ong.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, also the head of the Hospital Management Office (HMO), said the Department of Health secretary has chosen Dumayas to assume the post.
Banias added that Dumayas was asked to submit necessary documents so she could already sit as the new chief of the sanitarium, which is located in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Santa Barbara, Iloilo.
“We assume by June, she can be installed already as the new chief of hospital,” Banias said.
He also said Dumayas is currently the Provincial Health Officer I assigned at the HMO and in-charge of the technical support service.
She is also serving as the officer-in-charge of the Sara District Hospital for two weeks now, replacing Dr. Jeremiah Obañana who retired from service, Banias added.
“She (Dumayas) has a very rich experience in hospital management. Academically, she is qualified being a graduate of Master in Public Health in the University of the Philippines-Manila,” said Banias. “In her long experience of supervising our hospitals, I think she will bring her rich experience in her new position in the sanitarium.”
Once Dumayas assumes office at the sanitarium, Barotac Viejo District Hospital chief Dr. Armando Dumdum will replace her current post. (With a report from PNA/PN)
