SAN JOSE, Antique – Tourism officers from all over Western Visayas will hold a three-day familiarization tour in Antique this April to help promote destinations in the province.

Provincial Tourism Officer Jose Ramlu Villaluna on Wednesday said among the sites to be visited are the newly renovated Baroque Church in Tobias Fornier in southern Antique, the San Pedro ruins and Padlusan Adventure Park in central Antique, and the Mararison Island in northern Antique.

The tourism officers will also visit the Siraan Hot Spring and Nogas Island in Anini-y town.

“We intend to show the tourism officers the different tourist sites from southern to northern Antique so they may be able to help promote our destinations in their own places,” Villaluna said.

The tour will be from April 23 to 25.

Villaluna stressed that the tourism industry in the province is increasing, especially during the Holy Week.

“I still don’t have the figure of the tourist arrivals during the Holy Week but there was really a noticeable number of people who came to Antique then,” he said. (With PNA/PN)
