DAVAO City – Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) secondary girls volleyball team hit a road block on the 62nd Palarong Pambansa held at University of the Philippines Gym in this capital city.

WVRAA Blue Barons suddenly could not find their touches at the crucial stretch with a 23-25, 24-26 loss against Region VII and dropping to 1-1 win-loss record on Tuesday, April 30.

“It was very unfortunate that we failed to deliver when needed against Region VII,” said assistant coach Biboy Calamba. “This should be a lesson for them that we should give our 100 percent every game.”

Despite the defeat, all is not lost for the Bacolod Tay Tung High School Thunderbolts-represented WVRAA as they just need to win over Region XII on late Wednesday to advance to the next round.

Meanwhile, WVRAA Blue Barons continued its strong showing in the secondary boys basketball team after cruising to an 81-79 victory over SOCCSKSARGEN on Tuesday.

Raffy Arguelles came up with the go-ahead basket for the squad, which is composed of players from Capiz and Negros Occidental, to keep its unblemished slate after three matches.

WVRAA elementary basketball team, meanwhile, remained undefeated after two matches following a lopsided 68-36 win over Cordillera Administrative Region on late Tuesday.
