A MAN charged with two counts of rape – and the No. 1 most wanted person in Western Visayas (WV) – was arrested on Friday, Sept. 9, in Sitio Magtang, Barangay Harigue, Caluya, Antique.
The suspect identified as Roland Castañeda alias “Lotlot,” 40, and a resident of the said place, works as a seaweed planter.
Joint elements of the Caluya Municipal Police Station (MPS), Antique Police Provincial Office-Intelligence Unit, Regional Intelligence Division 6, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, and Maritime Police-Antique served the warrant of arrest to Castañeda.
Judge Josefina Fulo Muego of Sixth Judicial Region, Regional Trial Court in Culasi, Antique ordered the suspect’s arrest. She denied bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
The suspect was detained at the Caluya MPS.
Meanwhile, Police Regional Office 6 accounted 4,242 wanted persons in the region from January to August of this year. Of this number, 680 were classified as most wanted and 3,562 belonged to other wanted./PN
