WV’s No. 10 suspect, 2 others nabbed

CAPIZ – Western Visayas’ No. 10 priority in the drug watch list and two others were nabbed in Barangay Timpas, Panitan, Capiz on March 2.

They yielded a total of 24 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 65 grams and valued at P442,000.

Harry Devera, alias “Bethol”, 29, and a resident of Barangay Conciencia, Panitan, was a high-value suspect.

Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU) 6 chief Police Major Rommel Anicete said the suspect was under surveillance before the operation.

Nag-appear pangalan nya kasi, every month nag-review kami ng mga old drug personalities at newly identified, so we saw his name and we conducted counter-checking, and we found out active sya. We worked it out, and we arrested him,” Anicete said.

Two suspected cohorts of Devera were also arrested.

They were Kent Francis Ortez, alias “Kenken”, 18, and Lorenzo Bustamante, alias “Renzo”, 20, both residents of Barangay Conciencia.

One .38 revolver with two live rounds, a cellphone and P1,650 in cash were further recovered.

The joint operation was carried out by the RPDEU-6, led by Police Captain Glenn Soliman, and the Panitan Municipal Police Station, headed by Police Major Pedro Goldino.

Suspects sold one heat-sealed plastic sachet to a police poseur buyer for P12,500.

The three suspects would be facing charges for several violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
