
BORACAY – A man listed as the fifth most wanted fugitive in Western Visayas was arrested early Monday morning, March 3, in Barangay Yapak, Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan.
The suspect, identified as a 41-year-old construction worker from Barangay San Isidro, Jaro, Iloilo City, is facing charges of rape and acts of lasciviousness. He was arrested by operatives from the Iloilo City Police Office’s Police Station 5 and the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force Company.
The apprehension was made based on warrants issued for his arrest, with no bail recommended for the rape charge and a P100,000 bail set for the acts of lasciviousness case.
Police Brigadier General Jack Wanky, director of the Police Regional Office 6, praised the arresting officers for their swift and effective action.
“This accomplishment highlights our personnel’s dedication to their duties. Despite the challenges posed by the distance, they were able to locate and apprehend the suspect. We also appreciate the valuable information provided by various stakeholders that contributed to the success of this operation,” Wanky said.
The suspect is now in police custody and will be presented before the court./PN
