MANILA – Taekwondo jins from Iloilo City and Negros Occidental gathered medals in the recently held 2021 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation Online National Poomsae Championships.
The Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen had 18 medals from the two-day online competition.
Christelle Avanceña was able to get gold in the junior female category for her dazzling poomsae performance. Several Negrense jins also reaped medals like, El John Alinar in junior male blue, Manuel Machado in cadet male brown, Cydric Johnrod Rojas in cadet male red, Cyan James Rojas in toddler male yellow, Cypher Daniel Rojas in toddler male blue, and Alexander Marañon in toddler male red.
Those who took the silver medals for the team are Arthur Diaz in junior men freestyle, Gadiel Estor in cadet male yellow, and Winefred Sipat Jr. in cadet male red.
Jamiehannah Agaloos seized a bronze medal in junior female black followed by Beatriz Zapata in cadet female black, Christophe Avanceña in gradeschool male red, Cyrah Marie Rojas in gradeschool female blue, Francine Launio in cadet female red, Jerik Joseph Paiwas in cadet male black, Julian Ignatius Sabay in gradeschool male brown, and Henjie Aunzo in cadet female brown.
Meanwhile, taekwondo jins from the stable of Iloilo MVP Taekwondo Gym garnered 14 medals in the Philippine Taekwondo Association-sanctioned event.
The team’s gold medal winners are Cyd Edryc Esmaña in cadet male black, Julianna Martha Uy in cadet female black, Viene Marie Dulaca in female toddler blue, Alicia Sophia Gutierrez in female senior blue.
Jenella Ashley Tionko, Phil Caleb Regalado, and Maria Beatriz Santos get silver medals while Elisha Miela Paradero, Margarette Gem Obsequio, Chris Bernie Damaolao, Andria Margaret Palabrica, Shanen Anica Feranco, Justin Adrian Apura, and Crisgel Castro captured bronze medals.
Iloilo City’s A Diasnes Taekwondo Gym harvested through Elizabeth Marie Borres, Seth Ryan Templanza, Rojohn de la Cruz, and Jasmine Kaye Badoles.
Its silver medalists are Kian Ezekiel Castigador and Mariel Angela Siscar.
Abraham Pajemolin, Franz Angelo Fernandez, Margareth Anne Aguana, Elisha Venice Aguilar, Alfie Diasnes, its Recognized Poomsae team, and Freestyle Poomsae team won bronze medals for the team./PN
