WVSU, 7-peat champion in SCUAA women’s arnis

TALISAY CITY, Negros Occidental – West Visayas State University extended its dominance in women’s arnis to seven years by ruling the 2019 State College University Athletic Association Meet at the Carlos Hilado Memorial State College here.

WVSU captured gold medals in the traditional solo, doble, open form, team doble and team open form, as well as in team anyo’s team solo and team doble and in non-traditional’s open form on Wednesday.

The WVSU women’s arnis also finished with silver in non-traditional solo and team anyo’s team open form, and bronze medal in non-traditional’s doble.

In the men’s category, WVSU settled for just second runner-up finish with two gold, two silver and six bronze medals.

WVSU men’s arnis gold medal were from non-traditional solo and traditional team solo, while the silver medal were from non-traditional doble and traditional open form.

The six bronze medals of WVSU men’s arnis were from non-traditional open from, team anyo’s team solo, team doble and team open form and traditional’s solo and doble.

WVSU’s success in the arnis competition was just days after they also dominated the men’s and women’s SCUAA Meet taekwondo competition./PN
