WVSU produces 19 topnotchers, posts 100% passing rate in nursing board exam

ILOILO City – West Visayas State University (WVSU) dominated the November 2022 Nursing Licensure Examination (NLE). With a 100 percent passing rate, it is one of the top performing schools in the country.

Aside from all of its 134 College of Nursing graduates passing the board exam, 19 of them also landed in the Top 10.

The WVSU nursing topnotchers and their passing rates are the following:

* Rank 2 – Jezrel Cabasis Alijid – 89.90%

* Rank 3 – Emmanuel John Dorado Aggabao – 89.60%

* Rank 4 – Carlos Jose Estacio Cerrada, Pauline Marie Robide Haro, Terese Angel Mispeñas Lee, and Emielle Salinas Ong – 89.40%

* Rank 6 – Pauline Catong Castro, Sarah Joy Cabaluna Demetillo and Mark Aron Tomedo Martirez – 89%

* Rank 7 – Francis John Patricio Gargarita and Ernesto Tabobo Gargaritano III – 88.80%

* Rank 8 – Chelsy Sophia Besario Acain, Mary Therese Condag Jambaro, Mary Bless Gentuya Debuque, Steffi Marie Sy Lao,  and Aquiuz Enero Salcedo – 88.60%

* Rank 10 – Ma. Katrina Izabylle Capulot Alegario, John Earl Albert Alvarez Luces and Ma. Luisa Villarias Pelayo – 88.20%.

Pelayo said she felt the pressure, knowing that there were around 25,000 nursing board takers. She prayed hard.

After their oath-taking, she plans to seek more training in hospitals in the city.

Pero gusto ko gid mag-serve diri sa Philippines kay gusto ko makabulig sa mga Filipino, especially diri sa Iloilo. Amon man na ang gina-ano namon nga ma-serve sa mga Filipino kay ginakulang nurses subong. Good thing gani nga nakakuha na kami exam kag damo nakapasar, daku gid ni nga bulig sa mga pumoluyo naton,” she added.

Aside from WVSU, two nursing graduates of the University of San Agustin (USA) and Saint Paul University Iloilo (SPUI) also made it to the top 10.

Trisha Marie Villaluna Besonia of USA ranked No. 7 spot while Emily Faith Dulla Ynion of SPUI was No. 10./PN
