Xi Jinping to visit PH in Nov.

MANILA – Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit the Philippines in November.

Xi will fly to the Philippines after attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Leaders’ Meeting, according the spokesman of President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Pres. Xi to visit PH this November after APEC in PNG,” Harry Roque said in a statement released Wednesday.

The APEC Leaders’ Meeting will be held from Nov. 12 to 18 in Papua New Guinea.

Duterte attended the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference in Hainan province in China on April 9 and 10.

Duterte and Xi also held bilateral talks and forged six bilateral agreements on labor, economic cooperation and infrastructure development.

In his opening remarks during the bilateral meeting, Duterte assured his country’s “fullest cooperation” in China’s fight against terrorism and transnational crime.

In October 2016 Duterte invited Xi to visit the Philippines during the former’s four-day state visit in China.

The Chinese leader was also in Manila in November 2015 for the APEC Summit./PN
