Actor and the Philippines’ Top 3 Mobile Legends player, Zaijian Jaranilla, has been named most valuable player in a mini-tournament held in Quezon City last Sunday, July 28.
Last season, Zaijan was Top 4 global of the multiplayer online battle arena game.
“’Yung Global po ako Top 4 lang inabot ko last season. Natulungan din po ako nung mga ka-squad ko nun. Hindi ko rin po talaga ine-expect na aabot ako sa Top Global. Kasi nilalaro ko lang dati spam Guinevere lang ako ganun. Tapos nagulat ako na nasa Global ako.” he said.
Jaranilla, whose mage hero is Guinevere, also shared how he manages to remain on the Top 10 list locally despite the challenges he faces along the way.
“Pero hindi ko rin po masyado na-maintain eh. After ilang weeks lang din bumaba ako sa Top 10 kasi ang dami nga pong magagaling na Guinevere users. Pero nababalik ko din. Tapos ‘yung sa Philippines naman, medyo mahirap lalo na ngayon ang laki ng bawas sa points. Tapos ang liit ng dagdag kaya nag-iingat din po ako minsan. Nag-gi-Guinevere lang po ako ‘pag mga five-man,” he stated.
Sharing how his interest Mobile Legends first started, he said: “Last year lang po ako nag-start. Pero DOTA (Defense of the Ancients) player po kasi ako. Tsaka ang dami ko ding mga nilalarong games. Kaya po siguro na-gets ko na rin agad ng madali.”
The 17-year-old Kapamilya actor also made known the celebrities he usually gets to play with on ML.
“Si Kuya Eruption (Eric Tai) po. Tsaka si Kuya Rayver Cruz. Dati AOV (Arena of Valor) tapos nag-ML kami,” he said.
Asked about the preparations he had before the mini-tournament, he stated. “Wala po. Kasi palagi naman po akong naglalaro. Kaya trineat ko na lang siya na parang ‘rank game’. Pero siyempre harapan. Mahirap. Kailangan ‘di masyadong maingay kasi maririnig nung mga kalaban namin.”
Meanwhile, Zaijian also teased that he will be doing Mobile Legends live streams on his official Facebook page soon.
Dubbed as “Celebrity Showmatch,” other celebrities who participated in the event organized by Star Magic and Tier One Entertainment were JC Alcantara, Myrtle Sarrosa, and Elha Nympha.
Hailed as Grand Champion of the competition was Zaijian’s team Green Knights composed of Gillian Vicencio, Kirst Viray, and Isaiah Dela Cruz.
Streamers and professional gamers namely Rojean Delos Reyes, Bianca Yao, Billy “Z4pnu” Alfonzo, and Lance “Mr. Vii” Vicencio served as Team Captains of the other four competing groups. (Push)
