ILOILO – The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Zarraga also signified interest for the town to be one of MORE Electric and Power Corp.’s (MORE Power) service areas.
SB member Rolando Papa introduced a resolution on Thursday asking 2nd District’s Cong. Michael Gorriceta to explore such a possibility.
Zarraga is being served by Iloilo Electric Cooperative (ILECO) 2.
SB member Erwin Guadalupe, majority floor leader, said they wanted Zarraganhons to enjoy cheaper electricity.
“Mas maayo kon may bag-o nga player nga magsulod sa Zarraga considering nga ang Leganes naghimu man sang pareho nga resolution,” Guadalupe said.
“Ang rate abi sang ILECO medyo mataas. Subong nagadalagan sa P12. Damo namahalan,” he added.
Guadalupe also admitted they were discussing the possibility of not abandoning ILECO 2 “but give way sa isa ka company nga magserbisyo sa amon.”
“Kon puede nga sila nga duha (MORE and ILECO) may choices ang mga pumoluyo,” said Guadalupe.
The towns of Pavia, Leganes and Dumangas previously requested their concerned congressmen to explore the possibility of MORE Power covering their areas./PN
