IT’S BEEN nine years since the country’s King of Comedy, Dolphy Quizon, passed away following a five-year battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 83.
On Instagram on Saturday, the veteran comedian’s longtime partner, Zsa Zsa Padilla, marked his ninth death anniversary by visiting his grave at The Heritage Park in Taguig.
In her caption, the Hiram hitmaker asked her fans and followers to pray for Dolphy before sharing her own prayer for her late partner.
“Today is Dolphy’s 9th death anniversary. Please say a little prayer for him,” she said.
“Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen,” she added.
Dolphy and Zsa Zsa have one child together, singer Zia Quizon. They also have an adopted daughter named Nicole.
Dolphy left behind a rich legacy in a showbiz career that spanned more than six decades, with more than 100 movies and television series to his name as a comedian and actor.
Among his popular films include Jack en Jill, Silveria, Captain Barbell, and Facifica Falayfay. He was also known for his roles as John Puruntong in the sitcom John en Marsha and as Kevin Cosme in Home Along Da Riles and Home Along Da Airport.(Push)
