CAPIZ – A Grade 7 teen from this province brought honor to the Philippines and to his home province by winning several awards in the recent 2022 International Math and Science Competition in Singapore.
Ellen Charice Valdemar Arevalo of Capiz National High School (STE) and her Philippine team won the following awards:
* overall runner-up champion and gold award in the International Junior Math Olympiad (IJMO) Global finals
* overall 2nd runner-up champion, gold award (individual round)
* gold award (team round) in VANDA Science Global Finals
A total of 32 countries participated in the 2022 International Math and Science competition on Dec. 4.
The local government unit of Jamindan where Arevalo hailed and the Capiz provincial government lauded her for bringing honor to her hometown and province as well as the whole Philippines.
