ROXAS City – A two-day “Diskwento Caravan Balik Eskwela” edition was held by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Capiz Provincial Office on May 30 and 31 at the MAR Hall along Rizal Street in Pontevedra town to bring basic and prime commodities at discounted or reduced prices closer to the public.
Products available during the caravan were food items, basic and prime commodities, school supplies, uniforms, shoes and other school-related merchandise.
The event was back-to-back with the product showcase of DTI’s Negosyo Centers from Roxas City and Capiz municipalities of Maayon, Panay, Panitan, Pilar, Pontevedra, and President Roxas which composed the province’s first congressional district.
Aside from the suppliers and retailers of the basic and prime commodities, local food and craft producers also joined the caravan.
The selling event sought to ease the financial burden of the consumers and at the same time provide an additional or alternative market for manufacturers and producers, especially micro, small and medium enterprises.
The same activity will also be staged by DTI in Mambusao town later this year. (PIA-Capiz/PN)
