ILOILO City – Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Dionardo Carlos feted performing officers during a brief command visit to the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) headquarters in Camp Delgado on Monday.
“Bawat isa sa atin ay mayroong ambag na gagawin. May trabaho tayo na gagampanan to contribute to the overall functions of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the election,” he said.
Monday’s was the first command visit of Carlos to the PRO-6 almost two months since he assumed his post.
He reviewed the PRO-6’s security plan for the polls.
“He was satisfied. But he said we should continue to keep watch of day-to-day events so we can adjust if there are changes,” said Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, PRO-6 spokesperson.
Carlos awarded Medalya ng Kagalingan to the following police officers:
* Police Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit – for the successful eradication of a marijuana plantation in Purok Mangium, Barangay Codcod, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Nov. 29, 2021; marijuana plants weighing 3,400 grams were recovered
* Police Major Jake Barila of the Hinigaran municipal police station in Negros Occidental – for the successful conduct of entrapment operation on June 29, 2021 which resulted in the arrest of Demosthenes Fernandez for violation of sections 28 and 32 of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)
* Police Major Marlyn Roquero of the Iloilo City Police Station 4 – for the successful conduct of a buy-bust operation in Barangay Divinagracia, La Paz, Iloilo City on July 14, 2021 which resulted in the arrest of Raclen Escobar for violation of sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)
* Police Captain John Khalev Sanchez of the Regional Intelligence Division – for the successful Implementation of a warrant of arrest to Dennis Subebe, a most wanted person (City Level – Iloilo City) on Dec. 6, 2021 for the crime of murder
Carlos also awarded a Medalya ng Papuri to Lieutenant Colonel Elmer Magbanua for returning to its rightful owner (a resident of Jamindan, Capiz) the P10,000 he found on Dec. 15, 2021 in La Paz, Iloilo City.
Carlos reminded policemen to follow the programs, rules and regulations of the PNP, and for unit commanders to discipline their personnel.
He won’t tolerate any wrongdoing, he added./PN
