Drug vendors have evolved and are reportedly operating on online platforms to sell illicit drugs during the pandemic.

On February 17, 2022, a 19-year old student admitted the sachets of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Ibajay, Aklan was sold online.

The suspect identified as John Noel “JN” Antonio allegedly sold four heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu for P9,000 buy-bust money to an undercover cop at around 6:11 p.m.

The sting operation was conducted in Sitio Agutay, Barangay Aquino by combined elements of Aklan Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

The buy-bust team also recovered from the suspect was an empty cigarette pack and P300 cash.
